Argall, Watro offices in Mahanoy City to host outreach appointments for veterans

Republican Herald - 2/1/2023

Jan. 31—Veterans and their dependents have a new resource available in Mahanoy City.

Those who have issues or questions about what benefits or services they may be eligible for can now schedule an appointment to meet with an American Legion service officer at the Mahanoy City offices of state Sen. David G. Argall, R-29, Rush Twp., and state Rep. Dane Watro, R-116, Kline Twp.

The service officer will be able to assist with applications for VA disability benefits; provide information, referrals and resources on education, employment, business and death benefits; and offer advice on other important topics of interest to veterans.

"Our veterans sacrificed so much to keep the rest of us safe here at home — we need to do everything we can to support them once they return," Argall said in a press release. "I would encourage all veterans in Schuylkill, Carbon and Luzerne counties to take advantage of the knowledge and expertise of the American Legion's service officers."

Appointments will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, beginning Feb. 28, at 1 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 570-773-0891.

"I'd like to thank Rep. Watro, who is a proud Army veteran, for suggesting we host these appointments at our offices in Mahanoy City, just as he had previously announced for his Hazleton offices," Argall added.
